Cephalopod is a Mark Steere game that uses dice as the primary game component. The goal is to fill a board of various sizes with as many of your dice as possible. This is complicated by a capturing mechanic that keeps the board in constant flux. The game ends when the board has been completely filled. As with most Mark Steere games, draws and ties are not possible in Cephalopod.

rozencrantz 2 Currently my favorite board-game. The pacing does not seem slow to me at all, and there are meaningful decisions right up to the end.
Uglyfoot 2
Aaron 1 The 5x5x3 version is *much* too much for me, but I enjoy all the other board sizes.
bigby 1 Not your typical dice game, in fact, not really a dice game at all. Takes time for board to develop, but a good game.
Cerulean 1 Novel use of dice. Gameplay changes greatly with board size. Pacing is glacial.
dralius 1
Elektrodo 1

nycavri 1 Simple rules and deep gameplay, but always with a limited immediate decision tree. Slow, but worth the time.
unic 1 A bit on the slow side, and hard to read ahead to see who'll be forced to make a move they don't want to. Intriguing.
Zotmeister 1 A sound game, and I think it's starting to grow on me. For whatever reason, I kept wanting to try it again. The 3-by-3-by-3 cubic board does wonders for it!
goulo 0 OK for 3x3, but repetitive enough that I don't want to play on a larger grid.
Hedge_o_Matic 0 Very dry, but with a strange appeal. The slow build will appeal to some. I think that the decision tree is limited enough, however, for a perfect strategy to arise. Time will tell, though.
Laurie_Menke 0 I very much enjoy this game, but it's a little slow for SDG. Pacing would probably be more enjoyable face to face.
